Leonard Silver, as a business, has been trading for over 75 years and it is our belief that it has never seen anything as profound as this pandemic. It feels like the country has been on a war footing for the past 8 weeks. Thankfully, it now looks like we are coming to the end of our personal lockdown, and the shop will once again open its doors on the 15th of June, following the Government's announcement.
At the beginning of the lockdown, we were all at home like everyone else some of us looking after elderly relatives. A few weeks in, however, we decided that we wanted to help.
Over the past few weeks, we have been helping the NHS by contributing to the effort to make Protective Clothing for the Nurses and Doctors fighting Covid-19. It was a group effort by our staff turning our workroom in the shop into a little PPE production factory, normally the domain of fine tailoring.
It's nice to know we contributed if only in a small way.
